The Roads of Avalon are not a fixed world map. Portal connections change over time, so the same entrance may later lead elsewhere. Valuable resources and chests make a return plan essential.
Before entering
- Use an affordable, replaceable set.
- Check food, potion, mount and escape skills.
- Record the entrance zone and approximate portal position.
- Leave spare carrying capacity.
Use AlbionTR Avalon Maps to record the route you observe. Treat it as a temporary map for that run, not permanent historical truth.
Reading portal information
Approach the portal and read its current availability, connection and destination information. Animated markers around a portal do not automatically mean “higher-quality loot.” Groups must also consider available passage capacity rather than entering without knowing whether everyone can follow.
Zone codes and destinations
Avalon zone codes can look meaningless. Record tier, mob strength, resources, portal count and player activity instead of memorizing only the name. A connection to a Royal city, Outlands, Hideout or Rest can change the route’s value.
Chests and risk
Enemy and chest areas support different party sizes. Color or size alone does not prove your build can clear it. Check mob tier and player signs first. Long fights reveal your location to other groups.
Gathering
Road zones may contain high-tier or enchanted resources. Without the correct tool and an escape plan, a rare node has little practical value. Keep the mount accessible and remember the portal direction.
Group roles
- Scout: reports connections and danger.
- Tank/engage: controls mobs or fight starts.
- Healer: maintains the group and manages energy.
- DPS: clears quickly without overextending.
- Support: creates defensive, cleanse and escape windows.
Three records that prevent getting lost
- Entrance zone and portal direction
- Every zone code crossed
- Visible lifetime and availability information
Do not depend on one exit. After securing valuable loot, returning through a known safe connection can be better than searching for another objective.
Solo approach
A solo player does not need to clear the entire zone. Gather connection information, quick PvE objectives and safe nodes. Leave narrow areas when you see evidence of another group. Filter solo PvE and mobility needs on Meta Builds.
