Gathering creates dependable income; refining can multiply it when city and market choices are correct. Buying expensive tools too early or ignoring transport and station costs can erase the margin.
Start with one resource
Stone, wood, ore, fiber and hide have separate Destiny Board paths. Specializing in one resource upgrades tools and efficiency faster. Choose a resource common in your local biome and add a second after the first produces steady income.
When to use gathering gear
Resource-specific gathering armor improves yield and escape options. It is comfortable in safe zones. In lethal zones, evaluate the full replacement cost, mount and carried load. Never take equipment you cannot replace.
Tier progression
- Gather tiers available to your current tool.
- Track fame needed for the next tool.
- Consider Learning Points for long gathering-tier unlocks.
- Do not chase only rare high-tier nodes; specialization and density matter.
Refining city bonuses
Royal cities provide return-rate advantages for particular resources. The bonus reduces input consumption, but hauling costs and risk may exceed the savings. Compare purchase and sale prices with Market Prices first.
Using Focus
Premium Focus is limited. Higher specialization processes more material per point. Measure net profit per Focus, not only profit per item. A costly low-volume product may remain unsold despite an attractive margin.
Real refining calculation
Net result = processed-product revenue + value of returned materials − raw materials − station fee − market deductions − transport. Materials already in your bank are not free; selling them directly is an alternative with real value.
Hypothetical example
Assume 100 raw materials cost 500,000 silver, the station costs 25,000 and processed goods return 610,000 after deductions. Returned material is worth 55,000 and transport costs 20,000. Estimated net profit is 120,000. Verify live in-game prices and the actual return rate.
Lethal hauling
- Keep enough movement capacity if dismounted.
- Plan an exit and an alternate gate.
- Never move the entire bankroll in one trip.
- Watch red-zone counters and suspicious players.

Daily routine
Spend 15 minutes checking prices, run a 30-45 minute route, compare direct sale against refining and record the result. A week of your own silver-per-hour data is more reliable than a generic claim about the “best” resource.
