Albion Online’s major Dragonfire update is live as of August 31, 2026. Dragons have returned to Albion, bringing the Ancient Lands, the 20-player Dragon Sanctuary, Azaryon the Fire Dragon, open-world Dragon attacks, Dragonslayer equipment, the Firewing Drake and new consumables.
Explore the Ancient Lands
Open-world portals now lead into the Ancient Lands, a new realm of floating islands. Different portal sizes support different party sizes, including solo players and small groups.
- Yellow Zone portals lead to the non-lethal Orange Zone version of the Ancient Lands.
- Red Zone and Outlands portals lead to lethal PvP versions.
- Players defeat Keeper enemies, earn Keystones and unlock new routes between islands.
- Drake objectives can reward chests, Dragon Blood and Waystone components.
Dragon Sanctuary: a new 20-player raid
Dragon Sanctuary is Dragonfire’s new high-level 20-player PvE raid. Entry requires a rare, tradable Waystone from the Ancient Lands. Using it in the open world creates an entrance reserved for the user’s party.
Groups face high-level enemies and Maeve, the Unfettered Oracle before reaching the update’s ultimate boss.
Azaryon, the Fire Dragon
Azaryon is designed as one of Albion’s greatest PvE challenges. The boss reacts dynamically to party movement, positioning and threat, while the encounter evolves through multiple phases.
Players who defeat Azaryon receive Lingering Dragon Spirit, a week-long effect that makes repeat Dragon Sanctuary clears significantly harder.
Open-world Dragon attacks
- Royal Continent: spontaneous attacks begin with little warning and reward contributing players.
- Outlands: attacks are announced earlier, giving guilds time to organize for Season Points and personal rewards while competing against rival guilds.
Dragonslayer Armor
Dragonfire adds a new leather Dragonslayer set craftable with Fire Dragon Scales or artifacts dropped by Dragons.
- Dragonslayer Hood: throws a revealing flare that slows enemy cooldowns.
- Dragonslayer Jacket: flies to a targeted location and creates a protective barrier on landing.
- Dragonslayer Shoes: offer a choice between a major movement-speed increase and cooldown reduction.
Firewing Drake and new rewards
The rare Drake Egg can be raised into the Firewing Drake by feeding it other mounts. Its glide ability provides a speed boost that damage cannot interrupt; only a stun can stop it.
Drake Biscuits, Leyfin Omelette and Lifeward Potion
- Drake Biscuits: use Drake Eggs and provide a 25-hour combat and gathering Fame buff.
- Leyfin Omelette: increases healing output.
- Lifeward Potion: crafted with Dragon Blood and can briefly protect allies from death.
