Albion Online Dragonfire Patch 3 brings new Ancient Lands changes, with the latest official community post published on October 4, 2026. Following Patch 2, the announcement focuses on adjustments to the Ancient Lands experience.

Ancient Lands is the focus of Patch 3
Ancient Lands is one of Dragonfire’s main features, combining PvE, PvP and exploration across floating islands. The official Patch 3 announcement focuses on further adjustments to the way this content plays and flows.
Why it matters
- Ancient Lands: The main focus of the Patch 3 changes.
- Portal-based gameplay: Systems affecting how groups enter and encounter each other are being adjusted.
- PvE and PvP balance: The flow between exploration, objectives and rival encounters is being refined.
- Dragonfire content: The changes directly affect the Ancient Lands gameplay loop introduced with Dragonfire.
The Ancient Lands system
Players progress through floating islands, complete Keeper objectives to open new routes and compete for increasingly valuable rewards. Four Drake islands lead toward the central Fire Drake. PvP rules vary depending on the portal’s location, with Outlands and Red Zone portals leading to lethal PvP versions while Yellow Zone portals lead to an Orange Zone version.
What’s next after Patch 2?
Dragonfire Patch 2 already changed Ancient Lands and Dragon Sanctuary loot, introduced Item Freeze for Orange Zone Ancient Lands and adjusted the Maeve encounter. Patch 3 continues refining the Ancient Lands side of the Dragonfire experience.
